Further improve the efficiency of stone foreign trade

The efficiency of China's stone foreign trade has been further improved. According to the Deep Research Report on China's Wood based Panel Industry 2011-2016 released by Shangpu Consulting, the total import and export volume and quantity of China's stone materials in 2011 were higher than those in 2010, with the import and export volume of US $6.395 billion and 33.86 million tons, respectively, up 27% and 15.5% year on year. The significant growth indicates that China's stone trade has emerged from its lowest point and entered the fast lane of development.
By the end of the 12th Five Year Plan, China's stone imports will reach 4.5 billion US dollars and exports will reach 7.5 billion US dollars, completing the initial transformation from a major stone country to a strong stone country. If we look at the total stone trade in China in 2009, the annual import and export still reached 5.065 billion US dollars, 29.34 million tons; Compared to the previous year's total imports and exports (5.488 billion US dollars, 36.52 million tons in 2008), they decreased by 7.7% and 19.66% respectively. It is not difficult to see that the decrease in quantity is much greater than the value - the efficiency of China's stone foreign trade has further improved.
As one of the world's largest producers and sellers of stone, China's domestic stone market has attracted much attention and will usher in a new round of development opportunities. At present, China's stone industry has also embarked on a modern development path, and the development mode has begun to change. This year, as the first year of the 12th Five Year Plan, facing urbanization construction and the recovery of the international market, China's stone industry continues to innovate in products, technology, management, etc., accelerate enterprise upgrading and industry layout adjustment, and continuously improve international competitiveness.
The stone industry is developing rapidly nowadays, and the number of stone products is constantly increasing. Consumers' requirements for stone are also constantly improving. Therefore, the stone industry should pay attention to the following three points while meeting consumer needs and facing domestic and international competition: firstly, the stone industry should adjust its industrial structure and marketing model, and all enterprises should maintain healthy competition, take the path of industrial integration, and create high-end enterprises; 2、 The stone industry should increase its domestic market development efforts, develop the western region, consolidate the central and eastern regions, and truly achieve the goal of expanding domestic demand and maintaining growth; 3、 Utilize favorable policies, implement international market diversification strategies, maintain existing markets, and develop new markets.
At present, there are over 40000 stone enterprises in China, with a stone processing capacity of over 200 million square meters per year. According to incomplete statistics, the main business income of domestic stone enterprises above designated size increased from 16.8 billion yuan in 2000 to about 150 billion yuan in 2008. In the stone industry, the production capacity and sales revenue of stone enterprises below a certain scale are almost 1:1 with those above a certain scale. Therefore, it can be inferred that the total sales revenue of the domestic stone industry exceeds 300 billion yuan.
